As our Adventure Training Camp is coming soon (9 -11 Sept) , we the teacher officers and especially the CIs have been busy planning for the camp. I really want to look forward for this day as it is the first time that I am the OC and coordinating school for the Sec 3s. Not to forget that our Boys have done us proud by caming in first in their 4x100m race organised by CCAB. This will definitely bring glory and morale to the whole Unit. Once a gain, I would like to congratuates our excellent cadets.

OC

0.22 shoot

Hi all,

Today must be an exciting day for all the Sec 2s as this is the first time that they are using a real revolver to fire real bullet. Out of the 4729 graduating NCOs and 300 nominations from 76 units, only 94 cadets from 37 schools are awared the SPF NPCC Badge, the pinnacle award for cadets in NPCC. The SPF-NPCC badge is launched in April 1997 to give recoginition to outstanding cadets with good leadership qualities. Together you see in the photo is the Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Charles Chong, Chairman, NPCC Council and MP for Pasir Ris – Punggol GRC and Commissioner of Singapore Police Force, Mr Khoo Boon Hui. <highest>This is really a rare opportunity. (photo taken by our CI Melvin Seah). We were quite shock that while we were taking this photograph, the reporters rush towards us and we can see cameras zooming at us and we were not sure which camera to smile with. After today, I believed that both our SIs will remember this date. QiaoYi will not always put these words in her mouth "Mr Peh always say: Graduating NCOs are useless to the units already." :p Jing Jie can start colating all his photographs and start his album of his NPCC life in SGS.

OC

NPCC Soccer

It started with a bright sunny Saturaday and ended up raining cats and dogs. Our NPCC girls team has bring us glory by trashing Evergreen Secondary 4-1 in their first match. When Evergreen Secondary scored the 1st goal in less than 2 minutes, the team were a bit stressed. They did not give up and perserve by scoring another 2 goals in the first half of the games. With great morale and determination, our girls played a defensive game in the second half and scored another 2 goals, trashing Evergreen Sec. I was very amazed that our girls have showed teamwork and determinations throughout the first game. After the 1st game, I sped towards NPCC HQ to attend the SPF badge ceremony and I got excited when thegirls messaged me that they won the second match and get into the semi-final by beating Chung Cheng High. Finally, our girls won the 3rd positions and Eastview and Siglap Secondary ended up sharing the 1st and 2nd position (Each school take 5 gold and 5 silver trophy). Well done and 3 cheers to our girls! They have trained hard to achieve what they have today. I would also like to thank our supporters(Those who are not in Unit T-shirt and Serangoon Secondary School). We need more supporters and encouragement from one another to stretch our performance. Next year when we are more experience, we will sure bring back the gold trophy and a GOLD unit!

OC

SGS symphonic band

Hi all,

Toady, about 40 of our NPCC cadets together with about 30 of the Girl Guides and together with another 30 of the prefects March down to NYJC with the lead of CI Nicholas to support our symphonic band first outside performmance ever in SGS history. It is a great experience and I would like to send my thanks and appreciations to all our Sec 2 cadets, especially to the incharge, Noorashkin and Fatin. Their responsible value is worth all of us to learn. They even take the effort to report to me the Sec 2 strength at about 8.10pm and they issued and collected the consent form for the Sec 2s without me chasing after them! 3 cheer and 3 cheer and 3 cheer for them!

I am sad to see some of our cadets especially our CIs willing to give up their seats to the other guest. They ended up seating along the staircase in the theatre. The selfless quality is worth my praises. I have reserved 140 seats for all the NPCC cadets (including the duties personal) and the prefects. Due to the fact that one of the band members miscalculated the number of seats in the threater...Instead of 700, he counted 600. This mistake costs a lot of guests ended up standing behind the threater and one by one getting scolding from me when they enter and exit from the threater. We, myself, our Head of student leader, Jieying and my son have to stare at them and chase them out of NYJC. So, learning point here...Be careful with our planning. The 100 seats different could cost so much inconvience! Just because of 1 person mistake. Our Sec 2 cadets ended up having conferencing with me and my son outside the threater as they could not enter to enjoy the performmance. I got to see my ex F.Maths teacher and Discipline Master in NYJC, Mr Tham. We have a long chat outside the threater and to my surprizes, he can still remember me and called my name exactly! I must have given him a lot of problems during my school days in NYJC. c",)

Last message from me for the day ......."Today we lend our support to the school, tomorrow the school will give us her support!" Of these, 1 of them has valid reasons (Telson for school's activity), the other 5, for the NCOs, you have to chase them for MCs and Parents letter and pass them to Ms Lee on Monday . The sec 1 cadets were introduced to the opening and closing drill as they are preparing for the 12th July when the mediacorp coming to sgs to interview Alvin Seah 4E1. The sec 2 were more aware of the 'HURT' and 'AFFRAY'. They learnt about the ingredients of both offences and their punishment. This added on to the 2 crimes they learnt last week; 'Theft' and 'Robbery'. One more test and they will be awarded the Crime Prevention Badge. The Sec 3s cadets are getting more active and experience in acting the role of a NCO. One feedback from me is that they may want to be more aware that the sec 1 cadets for this training. Just imagine wearing FULL U under the hot sun for the whole day. Maybe NCOs, you may have let the cadets changed to Quarter or Half U. So that whenever they were to prepare their Uniform for Friday training in future, they will not 'VOMIT'.
SGS npcc will be coordinating the Sec 3s ATC this year. There are lots of things that we, the teacher officers have to learn from this ATC. Lets learn together and gather as much skills from the CIs for this experience. :)

Lets work together for a better tomorrow! Cheer!
